Robbert Sjoerdsma

Robbert has been a lawyer since 2007. After having worked for De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek for nine years, he joined Holla legal & tax as a partner in 2016.

Robbert specialises in intellectual property law, including trademark and tradename, designs and models, copyright and (pharmaceutical) advertising law, the protection of know-how and unfair competition. Within Holla, he is tasked with strengthening the firm’s expertise in these areas further.

Robbert has a wealth of experience representing clients in matters concerning intellectual property before the Dutch courts, as well as in the administrative procedures for the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. In this context, he was involved in numerous pioneering proceedings which led to defining jurisprudence. Furthermore, Robbert advises on maintaining intellectual property rights, intellectual property strategy, licensing and franchise contracts as well as on intellectual property documentation relating to complex transactions.

Robbert is known for his determination in reaching a positive outcome for his clients. He is courteous in his ways, but means business. He thrives in coming up with creative legal solutions for his clients.

Robbert is regularly publishes articles and is a known speaker at IP-conferences. In addition, he is an active member of multiple associations within his area of expertise, including the Association of Advertising Law, the Benelux Association of Trademark and Design Law and the Association of Intellectual Property.
