Peter van Velthoven

Peter has been with Holla legal & tax since September 2025 as a senior lawyer in the Tax Law section. He has been practicing as a lawyer and tax advisor since 2016. Peter advises clients on the (inter)national tax aspects of, among other things, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law matters. In addition, Peter regularly gives presentations at clients, speaks at (inter)national conferences, and publishes articles on current developments in (inter)national taxation.

His focus is primarily on real estate projects, corporate law, and M&A, with a particular interest in energy and sustainability projects and investments in new infrastructure. In this context, Peter wrote his MRE research paper at the ASRE on the tax and financial incentives for Battery Energy Storage Systems, a subject at the intersection of real estate, energy, and taxation.

Peter has extensive experience with real estate transactions (asset and share deals), M&A transactions, (real estate) financing, (inter)national (re)structuring, and tax implementation and compliance. He also advises companies, healthcare institutions, and semi-public organizations on collaborations, mergers, and (re)structuring.

Peter integrates the various tax instruments into a comprehensive and coherent advice. His approach is characterized by a combination of tax and civil law expertise, enabling him to translate complex issues into practical and workable solutions. Clients can count on integrated and multidisciplinary services, a proactive and pragmatic style, attention to detail, and sensitivity to the commercial and societal context.
