Kim de Bonth
Kim is a partner at Holla and a recognised practitioner in the field of data protection and IT. She advises on complex GDPR-related matters, including data governance, regulatory compliance, data sharing arrangements and technology-driven privacy challenges.
She also has extensive experience in IT law, advising both customers and suppliers in contract negotiations, as well as representing clients in disputes and litigation concerning failed or escalated IT implementations. In addition, she advises on the contractual aspects of artificial intelligence, including the allocation of risks and responsibilities in AI-driven solutions.
Kim supports corporate clients on the data protection aspects of IT projects, including cloud services, platform-based solutions and data-driven business models. Her work covers privacy-by-design implementation, cross-border data transfers and engagement with supervisory authorities. She is regularly involved in matters relating to algorithms and automated decision-making, workplace monitoring, and issues concerning access to and the sharing of data generated by connected products.
Her practice also extends to the non-profit sector, with particular experience in the healthcare industry. She regularly assists healthcare providers in navigating privacy obligations in operationally complex and highly regulated environments.
In addition to her client work, Kim holds leadership roles within Holla legal & tax. She is Chair of Holla’s IP, IT & Privacy Practice Group and heads Holla’s AI Team. In these capacities, she focuses on the legal and regulatory implications of artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and EU digital regulation, and advises on governance and compliance in this rapidly evolving landscape.
