Barend has worked for Holla since1989 and has been a partner since 2000. He specialises in liability, insurance and transport law. Because of the nature of his practice he has gained extensive experience in (international) litigation.

Barend is registered in the Register of Legal Practice Areas of the Dutch Bar Association for the following main (and sub) legal areas: Insurance Law. Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training points in each registered main legal area every calendar year, in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
