Fred Stiekema (1954) was born in Apeldoorn. He completed his secondary education (Atheneum) at the Mgr. Zwijsen College in Veghel. He subsequently went on to study Dutch Law (after a brief course in Business Administration at Delft) at Nijmegen University. His main subjects were Labour Law, Social Law and Housing Law.
He started work as a lawyer in 1981 at the predecessor of Holla Advocaten, Poelman Denneman Bruinsma in Waalwijk and has worked at the Tilburg office since 1997. He became a partner in the firm in 1984 and has been a member of the firm’s executive committee until 2008, for the last couple of years as chairman. He is mainly active in the field of labour law and company law (incl. bankruptcies).
